Hi Guys! It is me again, how are you guys doing lately? I am excited, super excited! Our adventure begins and I am hoping to spend my time studying and learning about Mexico.

I will talk about historical facts, people & places experts and I will also be focus on the cause and effect of the history in Mexico. So let´s begin, shall we?

HISTORICAL FACTS, PEOPLE & PLACES EXPERT:
  • I chose my team to visit the pyramids of Teotihuacan and the Chapultepec Castle, I think that if we want to study correctly about Mexico, we have to learn the origin and bases of the Mexican culture, and I think that the best way to start looking into it, is with a prehispanic location, but not only a city, we are talking of one of the biggest cities of Mesoamerica ever found 😱, how great is that!
    • And I want to visit and study the Chapultepec Castle, to be able to see and compare how the social classes were divided.
  • I will probably choose to see the Aztec Stun Rock, I think it will be almost impossible to be able to see it, but hey! we don´t lose anything by trying, it was discovered 35 years ago so I think it will be really difficult to see it 🥺, I really think this item is an amazing way to study the post-classical period and how the traditions in that culture worked were in that time and how they develop to what we know today.
  • People I will like my team to meet:
    • Political Individual: Guadalupe Victoria, he was elected as the first constitutional president of  Mexico,  he fought against the Spain Empire in the Mexican War of Independence, I think is important to my team and me to listen to the ideas of a President of another country, how is it different from France? What was the impact of Independence in Mexico? I think it is important for us to study how the wars were taken in Mexico, is this similar to our revolution? We really need to know from the people what they think about and compare those ideas with the ones from my country.
    • Economic Individual: Lucas Alamán, after the War for Independence was over, he returned to Mexico and he did some changes for his country, he impulsed the constitution of anglo / Mexican mining companies and attracted great economists and investors from England, I want to personally ask him about the Mexican Economy, which ones are the ups and downs of the economy? I want to know what he thinks is the best solution to make Mexico better in this area.
    • Social Individuals: José María Luis Mora, he is a liberal ideology and he is one of the first supporters of liberalism in Mexico and he is fighting for the separation of the church and state, we want to know what is his point of view on this when he is priest, what does he think about it? I think is important if someone tells us their opinion about this and how is this similar to France.
CAUSE/EFFECT EXPERT:

I think one of the main causes for Mexico to fight for Independence, was the fact that they couldn’t express themselves correctly, they were treated like garbage with almost no human rights or maybe none, they were being controlled by Spain and they were done of this. They had the potential to be an independent country, and they were looking forward to changing and revolutionize everything.

I think that one of the positive effects this had, was that the hierarchy by castes was eliminated, this system used to separate the people ranked with their ethnicity, and this would dictate in the part which area or activity they would do and dedicate, this no longer determine what you should do and think that is a relief. Something that I found also good, was the freedom of slaves and the creation of constitutions to protect our human rights.

On other hand, the negative effect this had, was that Mexico faced a political crisis, when the war ended, they have no idea what was gonna happened to Mexico or what to do, there was literally no plan, so they faced a lot of what we know coup d´etat (hits of State). Mexico becomes a really inestable country and Mexico could suffer another conquest. Also, Mexico faced an economic crisis, the war ended up being really expensive for the country, the nation was devasted and impoverished.

That is all I have today for you guys! See you next week! ☺️

Update: OUR TRIP TO THE UNITED STATES!

Hi guys! So today I am going to talk about our plans to the United Staes, aren´t you excited ?!
Let´s go!

COMPARISON / CONTRAST EXPERT

So, the similarities that I found about France and United States, are the fact that both countries wanted to stop being ruled by an absolute ruler, they were looking for a democracy and not a monarchy, they wanted the people to decide their goberments, both of them faced economic instability before, during and after the wars and revolutions, and both had (and has in the present because it is still not resolved completely yet) social inequality, the human rights did not matter and they treated some people and states like garbage, and also, both of them were inspired by the enlightenment and the ideas of the philosophers on that time, I think this why they are so similar, and because of the fact that the USA was formed being inspired by the French Revolution.

Differences, well, United States didn’t faced a Reign of Terror let me tell you that, also the American Revolution leaded and resulted in the newly and renovated USA, and in the other hand the French Revolution bring down its own government. Also, the American Revolution did not wanted to change Britain´s monarchy they wanted to be free from its rule, and France demanded to make a lot of changes (all most replace) on the way they were governed.

To be honest, if you make me choose, I would said goodbye to France and hello to America, they get to advance, and I feel that we are stuck. America formed a new government and country, and France was trying to replace everything. America fight divided by their ideas, people who supported the crown and people who wanted to be free, while in France, they fighted divided by their economical states. America renovated and France is still falling.

PERSPECTIVE EXPERT

Individuals that I think are impressive, in many ways are John Neal, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe.
I think the one that I found more impressive and the one that I admire the most is John Neal, I mean he is an activist, defensor of the human rights and liberty, he also support the feminist causes and advocated for the end of slavery and the end of racism, and when he has the chance, he talks about how important freedom is. I mean, he is pretty stunning. He is also a writer, and his works represents the daily life in the United States, AND (because this man is more) he helped develop the American art with his critics. PERFECT *chef’s kiss*
To be honest, I think we would be the best friends, I mean like ...goals friendship, as you know, I am a painter, so him judging my artwork, it would be amazing. He respects women, and is a defensor of women rights, and I personally love that. We would made an amazing duo.
